Alfred H Knight has an exciting opportunity for a Business Transformation Manager to join our team in Prescot, Liverpool (UK Head Office). This key role is designed for a proven change leader ready to manage and execute the Group’s operational strategy within the IT department. You’ll be joining a dynamic and forward-thinking team here at Alfred H Knight to lead and govern critical transformation initiatives, overseeing projects focused on organisational change, technology implementation, and digital adoption. This role offers exceptional executive exposure, including regular engagement with Executive Sponsors and Group Leadership.
You will initiate, manage, and embed large-scale changes that directly impact our global profitability and service delivery, ensuring user adoption and maintaining IT quality standards. Your expertise in applying structured change methodology, managing adoption, and ensuring process quality will be vital to ensuring our operations are scalable, efficient, and aligned with AHK’s long‑term growth objectives.
This role is structured around four critical areas of responsibility:
- Transformation & Organisational Change: Building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders across the organisation (IT, department heads, project teams). Leading and managing end‑to‑end transformation projects, identifying areas for improvement, conducting detailed analysis, and fostering collaboration to ensure successful change adoption. Identifying sources of resistance early and developing mitigation strategies to foster buy‑in.
- Adoption & Training: Designing and executing comprehensive training and adoption plans to ensure successful uptake of new business processes, systems, and technologies. Collaborating with SMEs to design relevant and effective training content (e‑learning, workshops, job aids). Defining and tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) related to change, adoption, and training effectiveness. Providing ongoing support post‑implementation and establishing a network of internal champions.
- Quality Management: Assessing risks associated with transformation activities and ensuring quality controls and mitigation strategies are in place. Developing and maintaining documentation (SOPs, quality manuals) to standardise best practices. Conducting quality assurance reviews and regular audits to verify compliance with new processes.

- Digital Transformation: Knowledge of digital transformation frameworks, technology integration, and data‑driven decision making.

- Performance Measurement & CI: Knowledge of how to develop KPIs/metrics, continuous improvement (CI) methodologies, and post‑implementation review facilitation.
- Innovation & Solution Development: Understanding of innovation management, MVP concepts, and agile methodologies.
- Leadership: Ability to lead, coach, and develop a team, and effectively resolve conflicts.
- Adaptability: The ability to quickly adjust to new information, changing environments, or unexpected challenges.
- Negotiation & Influence: Ability to convince key stakeholders to embrace transformation, understand others’ viewpoints, and present compelling arguments.
- Organisation: Ability to manage a large and often complex array of tasks, timelines, and resources, including effective delegation.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to convey complex ideas to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
- Problem Solving: Creative thinking and the ability to analyse and address challenges that arise during transformation.
- Collaboration: A collaborative mindset, working effectively across teams and departments to achieve common goals.
Required Work Experience: Strong experience in a Project Manager, Business Analysis, or Transformation role. Proven track record of successfully driving and implementing business transformation initiatives. Experience in quote to cash (Q2C) transformations (preferred). Industry experience in Metals & Minerals, Agriculture, Energy, or Circular Economy (preferred).
Required Qualifications: Educated to degree level (high grade) or above. Business Analysis, Six Sigma, or Lean certifications (preferred).
