Alfred H Knight has a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Business Analyst to join our IT team in Prescot, Liverpool. This is an incredibly exciting time to be part of the AHK journey. Globally, we are experiencing exceptional commercial growth, establishing ourselves in new countries, and breaking into fresh markets. To support this exciting expansion, we are dedicated to a major period of company-wide change, modernisation, and digital evolution. As our global change pipeline continues to scale up, we are looking for an experienced analyst to bring dedicated expertise to these complex, large-scale global initiatives. We offer a dynamic, hybrid working environment, providing an excellent balance of collaboration and flexibility with three days in the office and two days working from home.

In this role, you will:

  • Shape Global Change: Partner with our business to lead analysis across key IT and business change initiatives, helping to define complex problems and design effective technology solutions.
  • Mentor and Support: Act as a coach and mentor to other Business Analysts within the team, helping to uplift our collective capabilities, templates, and overall ways of working.
  • Collaborate Across the Business: Build strong relationships and work closely with senior business leaders, technical delivery teams, IT Business Partners, and third-party suppliers.
  • Drive Full Lifecycle Delivery: Take ownership from early discovery, workshop facilitation, and requirement mapping right through to supporting UAT, business readiness, and post-go-live implementation.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Essential
    • Business Analysis Methodologies: Comprehensive understanding of BA methods, tools, and techniques across both waterfall and agile delivery environments.
    • Full Lifecycle Delivery: Good understanding of the complete software development lifecycle, including discovery, requirements definition, solution design, testing, UAT, and deployment.
    • Process & Data Analysis: Strong proficiency in process modelling, gap analysis, data flows, and identifying system integration points.
    • Technical Collaboration: Proven ability to work effectively alongside technical teams, including architects, developers, data engineers, and cyber/security specialists.
  • Required Competencies
    • Constructive Challenge: Ability to engage confidently with stakeholders at all levels, ensuring requirements and assumptions are clear and aligned with business outcomes.
    • Expert Facilitation: Strong workshop facilitation and interview skills, with the confidence to lead requirements walkthroughs and review sessions.
    • Proactive Ownership: A self-managing, delivery-focused approach with the ability to take ownership and drive work forward with minimal supervision.
  • Required Work Experience
    • Substantial Experience working as a Business Analyst, specifically within an IT, digital transformation, or business change environment.
    • Demonstrated Track Record of leading discovery sessions with senior stakeholders to define business problems, objectives, and success measures.
    • End-to-End Delivery Experience, including producing high-quality documentation (user stories, process maps, gap analysis) and coordinating UAT phases with business users.
    • Peer Development Experience through coaching, mentoring, or supporting the professional growth of other analysts.
  • Required Qualifications
    • Educated to degree level or equivalent is preferred but not essential – we value experience.
    • BCS Business Analysis certifications are preferred.
    • Ability and willingness to travel to both UK and overseas sites if required.
