About Alford House
Alford House is a youth club in Kennington providing a safe, welcoming and inclusive space where young people can meet, build relationships, develop skills and take part in positive activities.
We are expanding our programme and are looking for a Female Health & Wellbeing Youth Worker to help us develop and deliver health, fitness and wellbeing opportunities for young women at Alford House.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about working with young people and can create a supportive environment where young women feel comfortable, confident and encouraged to participate.
About the role
The Female Health & Wellbeing Youth Worker will help develop and deliver opportunities focused on physical activity, health and wellbeing for young women, complementing our existing gym and open-access youth provision.
You will help create a welcoming environment where young women can build confidence, develop positive relationships, improve their physical wellbeing and access support when needed.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver female-focused gym and physical activity sessions.
- Provide mentoring and wellbeing support to young women.
- Promote healthy lifestyles and positive physical activity.
- Build positive and trusting relationships with young people.
- Support open-access youth provision.
- Encourage young women to participate in the wider Alford House programme.
- Develop activities in response to the interests and needs of young women.
- Support young people's voice and participation in shaping activities.
- Provide appropriate guidance and signposting where required.
- Record attendance, engagement and outcomes using Juice.
- Work collaboratively with youth workers, volunteers and the wider Alford House team.
- Follow Alford House safeguarding, health and safety and professional standards.
About you
We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience of working with children and young people.
- Can build positive, respectful relationships with young people.
- Has experience or an interest in health, fitness, physical activity or wellbeing.
- Is confident creating a welcoming and supportive environment.
- Is a good communicator and able to listen to young people.
- Understands the importance of safeguarding and professional boundaries.
- Is reliable, organised and able to work as part of a team.
- Brings enthusiasm and a positive approach to working with young women.
Experience and qualifications
A Level 2/3 Youth Work qualification, fitness or PT qualification, Mental Health First Aid training or relevant experience of working with young women would be desirable.
However, we are also interested in people who can demonstrate strong relevant experience and the ability to build positive relationships with young people.

- Β£14.80 per hour β London Living Wage
- 10 hours per week
- Wednesday 3.00pmβ8.00pm and Friday 3.00pmβ8.00pm
- A part-time employment contract.
