Our clients, a commercial practice that specialises in the property and corporate sectors, are seeking a highly experienced Commercial Litigation Partner to join their firm.
About the role
You will lead the firm’s commercial litigation practice, working collaboratively with the Property Litigation Partner and the team. You will focus primarily on non‑property commercial disputes, combining hands‑on fee‑earning with supervisory responsibilities for a small but busy team of solicitors and support staff. The role requires strategic leadership to drive practice growth and includes a broad range of matters such as shareholder and partnership disputes, company and contractual disputes, debt and asset recovery, professional negligence claims, insolvency‑related litigation, and freezing orders and injunctions.
Responsibilities
- Lead and grow the commercial litigation practice, focusing on non‑property disputes.
- Supervise solicitors and support staff, ensuring high‑quality service.
- Drive business development, acquire new work, and generate new client relationships.
- Handle a broad range of litigation matters, including shareholder disputes, partnership disputes, contract disputes, debt recovery, professional negligence, insolvency litigation, freezing orders, and injunctions.
- Represent clients in court and negotiation settings.
Qualifications
- At least 12 years PQE (preferably 12‑15), predominantly in commercial or general litigation within a small to mid‑size law firm.
- Proven business‑development skills or an existing client following.
- Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience.
- Excellent communication, analytical and problem‑solving skills, and sound commercial judgment.
What we offer
