The Newcastle Hospitals and Community Services Staff Bank provide temporary staff to various wards and departments across the Trust.   • All posts are subject to NHS pre-employment checks including occupational health clearance and DBS (where appropriate).
  • All pay progression is conditional upon a positive outcome at annual appraisal.
  • All successful candidates who require a DBS for the post they have been offered pay for their DBS certificate. The method of payment is a salary deduction from your first month\\\’s pay. You will be required to sign a DBS payment form which will be issued to you as part of your recruitment process.
  • All new employees will be required to attend the Trust induction programme and complete appropriate mandatory training requirements.
  • Where professional registration is required for a post it is the responsibility of the employee to maintain their registration.
  • The Trust operates a no smoking policy.

To provide effective and efficient support to various departments throughout the Trust as required, ensuring that a high quality of patient care is delivered.

Person Specification

Essential

  • Qualifications
    • Registered Nurse (appropriate to branch)
    • NMC registration
    • Diploma/Degree in Nursing (completed or willingness to undertake) or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge
    • Evidence of achievements and career development in current post and of on-going professional development
    • Awareness of current relevant NHS policy context
    • Has understanding / experience of adult / child safeguarding
  • Desirable
    • Meets Nursing and Midwifery Council requirements for mentorship if relevant to role
  • Skills
    • Basic IT skills
  • Desirable
    • Relevant clinical skills relating to the specialty e.g. cannulation, IV drug administration
  • Experience
    • Relevant and recent clinical experience
  • Desirable
    • Previous experience in speciality
