This is a varied role in a large and complex NHS trust with lots of opportunities to develop and deliver specialist podiatry services. The successful applicant will experience working across community and hospital based clinics, working as part of the Diabetes MDT at Freeman Hospital, and managing highly complex patients in the community. You will work alongside an experienced team of Band 7s and support junior colleagues, podiatry assistants and Podiatry apprentices in all aspects of podiatry. It is essential that you hold current HCPC registration and hold a clean driving licence enabling you to travel independently across the locality and have access to a suitable vehicle for business purposes.

As an Advanced Podiatrist, you will act as an autonomous practitioner providing assessment, diagnosis, treatment, opinion and evaluation of a complex nature in an area of specialism. You will work as part of a highly motivated team with substantial experience as a Specialist podiatrist in the area of specialism.
Responsibilities- Provide an experienced and enthusiastic advanced resource and leadership for the Podiatry team taking a developmental and operational lead in specialist or complex areas such as Biomechanics or Diabetes and High Risk or Nail Surgery or Wound Care or Mental Health or services to the Acute sector.
- Use advanced knowledge to assess and treat cases in a holistic way, including a multi-agency and patient-focused approach to care, and motivate others to work in a similar way.
- Develop professionally to develop the area of work; lead on the development and facilitation of research and audit; lead on Health & Safety; Risk Management and the development of supervision and training programmes in the specialist area.
- Ensure the smooth and efficient running of the department within the available resources via day to day management of the team.
- To deputise for Principal Podiatrists as required.
- Current HCPC registration
- Clean driving licence enabling travel across the locality and access to a suitable vehicle for business purposes
