Responsible for the delivery, review and development of the specialist area within radiotherapy at NCCC-North Cumbria. Contribute to holistic patient care as part of a multi-disciplinary team, providing specialist advice and information regarding radiotherapy to patients and their careers. Undertakes practical and academic training, education and induction of staff & students. To be an expert in their field, having specialist knowledge within the defined project area(s) and to undertake appropriate academic or experiential study as agreed with the service leads.
To maintain competency with existing equipment and systems and to develop the appropriate level of skill with new equipment and new systems of work to ensure continuous improvement and the development of best practice. To contribute to the development of quality improvements within NCCC. Timescales for achievement and standards of performance relating to the duties and responsibilities identified in this job description will be agreed via the annual appraisal process with the post-holder, and at monthly review meetings with the Operational Lead Radiographer or Radiotherapy Service Manager.
