As Key Account Manager at Alfasigma, you are responsible for developing and managing strategic partnerships with key healthcare stakeholders to drive access, adoption, and optimal use of the company’s product portfolio within Rheumatology and Gastroenterology together with a co-promotion within Hepatology. Working within a defined territory across South Wales, the role requires strong commercial insight, cross-functional collaboration, and a deep understanding of healthcare decision-making pathways across the Health Boards.
You will develop and execute strategic account plans, engage with healthcare professionals and decision-makers, and deliver customer-centric solutions that support improved patient outcomes while achieving business objectives. They will actively collaborate with their internal colleagues. Please note that this is a field position. In this role, you will report to the Regional Business Manager.
Your role:
- Achieve and exceed territory sales targets through effective key account management and execution of strategic plans.
- Develop and implement Strategic Account Plans aligned with regional priorities and organisational objectives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including healthcare professionals, clinical leaders, and healthcare decision-makers.
- Deliver customer-centric solutions that address local Health Board healthcare needs and improve patient outcomes.
- Analyse sales and market data to monitor performance and inform strategic decision-making.
- Identify opportunities for growth, address access barriers, and support optimal product adoption through pathway developments.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams (medical, market access, marketing) to deliver integrated account strategies.
- Ensure all activities comply with industry regulations, company policies, and ethical standards.
Who are you:
- Degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Business, or a related discipline preferred.
- Proven experience in the pharmaceutical industry in a sales or key account management role.
- Strong commercial mindset with a track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets.
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Strong analytical and strategic planning abilities.
- High ethical standards with a strong commitment to compliance and industry regulations.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, collaborative, and inclusive working environment.
- CRM database management and strong IT skills required.
- Full driving licence.
- Proficiency in speaking, comprehending, reading, and writing English.
- Experience in Rheumatology, Gastroenterology, or specialty care markets.
- Experience working within Welsh healthcare systems and decision-making pathways.
- Previous experience within access roles.
