Lodge Security is looking for a dedicated Retail Security Officer to join our on-site team across the United Kingdom on a full-time, permanent basis. In this vital role, you will be the visible face of safety in a busy retail environment, creating a welcoming atmosphere for shoppers while actively safeguarding staff, premises, and stock.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a professional, highly visible deterrent presence on the shop floor to prevent loss and deter theft.
- Apply ASCONE criteria effectively to identify, monitor, and handle shoplifting incidents in line with retail policies.
- Deliver outstanding customer service by greeting visitors, assisting members of the public, and representing the store professionally.
- Partner closely with store management teams and colleagues to ensure a safe, secure environment for employees and customers.
- Defuse conflict calmly, de-escalating tense situations and responding promptly to store emergencies.
- Follow strict compliance and security protocols, accurately completing incident reports and maintaining complete operational records.
Required Skills & Experience
- A valid, current SIA Licence (Door Supervision or Security Guarding).
- Proven right to work in the UK alongside a verifiable 5-year checkable work/education history.
- Excellent customer service skills with a smart, professional appearance and approach.
- Demonstrated ability to remain calm under pressure and handle conflict management situations effectively.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with solid attention to detail when following procedures and guidelines.
Nice-to-have
- Prior experience in retail security, shop floor guarding, or retail loss prevention.
- Practical familiarity with applying ASCONE principles and managing stock protection techniques.
