Alfa Leisureplex Group has an opportunity for a Relief Head Chef to join our team.

About the role:

The role will give you the opportunity to work at a number of our hotels on an assignment basis, from Scotland, Northern England and Wales to the South and South West in idyllic seaside locations. This offers a great opportunity to spend time exploring different locations.

You will be responsible for managing, supporting and working in the kitchen during your assignment. Our hotels offer a table d'hôte menu on a 7-day cycle meaning the menu is repeated each week with the kitchen teams making the majority of starters, mains and desserts in-house using fresh produce. You may also be required to support with training the kitchen team to the required standard, kitchen administration such as temperature control records, cleaning schedules and other related company administration documents and tasks such as a weekly stock take, food ordering and stores security. This is a troubleshooting role using your skills and experience to help your colleagues out where they need it the most.

What will we offer:

  • This role offers a salary of £35,000 per annum dependent on the candidate, with free live-in accommodation and meals provided and we will also cover all travel costs between resorts.
  • As a relief Head Chef, you will be required to work circa 40-45 hours per week including weekends, normally on a 5-week assignment followed by a week off. The role may also involve split shifts, giving you the opportunity to spend some time exploring the local resort.

The ideal candidate:

  • Previous experience in a similar role within the kitchen
  • High level of food hygiene and health and safety knowledge
  • Stock rotation, labelling and cost control experience
  • A passion for food by delivering consistency
  • Well organised with the ability to keep calm under pressure
  • Have a positive can-do attitude
  • Be flexible to work at various locations for short periods of time during the holiday season

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in a coaching hotel environment
