Ready to do the best work of your life? Join us, and bring everything you have to solve the most fulfilling problems on the market. As a Gold accredited Investor in People we have everything you need to propel your career to new heights. Inclusion is the beating heart of Alfa so whoever you are, you can show up as your best self every day - be that from home, from our offices, or a little bit of both. We've got the tech, we've got the opportunities, all we're missing is you.

Alfa is looking to recruit a Head of User Experience to lead the vision and strategy for UX across our enterprise software suite. Alfa Systems sits at the heart of some of the world's largest asset finance companies, across 26 countries which means the UX decisions you make here shape how thousands of users tackle genuinely complex financial workflows, every day. The foundations are already in place: a working design system and established patterns. What we need now is someone who can be the difference maker, someone with the vision, the conviction, and the storytelling ability to sell that vision to a whole organisation, take what exists and push it further, and bring new projects to life. If you want your work to genuinely matter and you're energised by the challenge of making complex things simple, this is that kind of role.

What we'll do together

  • You'll define and own the UX vision for Alfa's enterprise software suite, aligning it with product strategy and customer needs, with the ability to explain the rationale for designs to all stakeholders including engineers, product owners, architects and senior leadership.
  • You'll act as a thought leader, influencing product direction and championing user-centric design across the organisation, and you'll bring architectural thinking to bear on problems we haven't fully defined yet.
  • Working closely with Product Owners, you'll shape user journeys and prioritise UX improvements based on data and research, translating complex operational processes into experiences that feel intuitive and built to evolve.
  • You'll lead the ongoing evolution of Alfa's design system, learning from other enterprise design systems and you'll lead our UI/UX Community of Practice, building collaboration and knowledge.

How we'll work together

Working across Product, Engineering, and Marketing and Brand teams to keep Alfa's products and brand aligned in concept, palette, tone and approach.

The tools we'll use

Modern design tools including Figma, Framer, Sketch and Adobe XD will be part of your everyday toolkit, alongside a working knowledge of front-end technologies like HTML, CSS, React and Material UI to work with engineers and architects to scale our component library with extensibility and accessibility baked in, and genuine design-dev parity between Figma and code.

What you'll bring to the team

  • Deep UX design experience, with at least 5 years in senior or leadership roles within enterprise software environments.
  • A track record of defining and executing UX strategy for a broad product built by multiple teams.
  • Experience partnering closely with Product and Engineering to instrument UX through telemetry, funnel analytics and usability diagnostics, using data to drive real decisions.
  • A track record of building and evolving design systems at scale.
  • Strong architectural thinking, designing for scalability and flexibility.
  • A deep understanding of user-centred design principles, accessibility standards and responsive design.
  • Above all, a natural communicator, someone who can sell a vision in a 1:1, a group session, or in front of a conference room, and bring people with you.
  • Familiarity with other enterprise design systems such as Salesforce Lightning Design System, experience in financial applications or other highly regulated, data-intensive domains, and a passion for building UX communities will all give you a head start - but none of them are dealbreakers.

What we'll do for you

  • Flexible hybrid or remote working.
  • 25 days' annual leave plus bank holidays and flexible cultural days.
  • Pension contribution match up to 6%.
  • Your choice of a Windows or Mac laptop.
  • Private health insurance and access to a private GP.
  • Enhanced maternity, paternity and adoption leave with family-friendly policies.
  • Income protection.
  • Life, disability and worldwide travel insurance.
  • Interest-free loans of up to 10,000 after probation.
  • Gympass access to gyms, classes and wellbeing apps.
  • Support pursuing membership of professional bodies.
  • 5 days per year for conferences or training.
  • 3 paid days of volunteering per year.
