Our client is a leading Civil Engineering Contractor. They’re seeking a high-calibre Project Director to join immediately in line with the company’s growth plans. The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership, ensuring that the projects remain commercially viable, risks are mitigated, and long-term client relationships are strengthened through transparent and professional contract management. This opportunity would suit someone who is looking for an autonomous role where they can add real value to the company based on their experience and aspirations.
The Project Director will be responsible for the inception through to completion of new and existing Civil Engineering projects throughout the UK. Responsibilities include:
- Managing a strong team of Project Managers, Engineers, Quantity Surveyors and other members of staff.
- Being the key point of contact for clients, suppliers and consultants.
- Leading, mentoring and recruiting your team.
- Ensuring all Health and Safety protocols and regulations are adhered to.
- Identifying any risks at the earliest opportunity and implementing effective mitigation strategies to protect the business’s interests.
The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the unique challenges associated with Civil Engineering delivery on high profile commercial/industrial projects. Requirements include:
- A degree in Civil Engineering, Construction or related is highly desirable.
- Extensive experience with projects in the civil engineering industry.
- Experience of managing your own team.
- Expert-level knowledge of NEC3/4 contracts.
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at a senior level.
