The Role
You will be leading the delivery of strategic projects to enable business growth and implementing key strategies. With a focus on the management and delivery of large infrastructure programmes that address the challenges of climate change, water scarcity, and increasing demand.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee the delivery of complex, high-value strategic water infrastructure projects from conception through to commissioning
- Develop clear project delivery strategies aligned with our broader business objectives and regulatory framework
- Ensure compliance with water quality standards, environmental regulations, CDM 2015, and health and safety requirements
- Provide leadership, direction, and constructive challenge to project managers and the broader project team
- Support senior decision-makers in managing risks and opportunities related to major water infrastructure projects
- Build and maintain networks with key stakeholders, including regulators, government bodies, and partner organisations
- Take accountability for project financial performance, ensuring efficient delivery within approved budgets
About You
You will be a seasoned strategic project leader with a proven track record in delivering major infrastructure projects within the water sector. Your experience and qualifications should include:
- Significant experience in leading large-scale infrastructure projects, preferably within the regulated water environment
- Strong understanding of the UK water industry, its regulatory framework, and future challenges
- Excellent commercial acumen with a track record of managing substantial project budgets
- Strong leadership abilities, with the capability to inspire and develop high-performing teams
- Strategic thinking with the ability to balance immediate project needs with long-term business objectives
