The Commercial Lawyer will serve as a key business partner, overseeing the legal framework of complex engineering operations:
- Contractual Architecture: Designing and negotiating bespoke commercial agreements and industry-standard suites, with a particular emphasis on NEC 3/4 (Options A–E) and FIDIC frameworks.
- Supply Chain Management: Advising on high-stakes procurement processes, sub-contractor appointments, and framework agreements for plant, materials, and specialist labour.
- Risk Mitigation: Identifying commercial bottlenecks and legal liabilities within engineering blueprints, specifically regarding ground conditions, design liability, and interface risks.
- Strategic Project Support: Providing ongoing counsel to project directors on commercial positioning, variations, and "pain/gain" mechanisms to ensure financial objectives are met.
