Bury | Full time, permanent | £40,000 – £50,000 DOE
A growing accountancy practice in Bury is looking for a Management Accountant to join its team.
The firm provides high level fractional finance support — Finance Controllers, Finance Directors, Management Accountants, Bookkeepers, Payroll Officers and Credit Controllers — to small and medium sized businesses across the North West.
You’d take charge of your own portfolio of four to seven clients and own their management accounting entirely.
It’s a role with real autonomy: you’re not buried in a corner of a finance team, you’re the person those businesses come to for answers.

The role
- Producing customised management accounts for each client
- Commercial accounting and business intelligence
- Reconciling balance sheet accounts
- Analysing gross profitability by project, product or revenue stream
- Clear variance analysis and performance commentary
- Leading monthly and quarterly client meetings
- Delivering KPI dashboards
- Maintaining cashflow forecasts and budgets
- Providing commercial insight
- VAT returns and forecasting work
- Supporting the bookkeeping team
- The profile
- 5 years’ or more experience in a similar role, with relevant qualifications
- Strong management accounts preparation experience
- Sage 50 and Xero experience — both essential
- Full competency with Outlook and Excel
- Confident presenting financial information and meeting clients on site
- Accountancy practice background is an advantage
- Friendly, grounded and trustworthy
