A growing accountancy practice in Bury is looking for an experienced Bookkeeper to join its team. The firm provides outsourced bookkeeping and management accounting to businesses across the Northwest, and this role has come about off the back of genuine growth rather than a replacement hire. It's a varied role with your own portfolio of clients, so no two days look quite the same. You'll build proper relationships with the businesses you look after and become a trusted part of their finance function, with the independence to run your own workload and a supportive team behind you when you need it.

The role:

  • Day to day bookkeeping and financial administration across your client portfolio, including:
  • Purchase and sales ledger
  • Raising and processing invoices, sales and purchase orders
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Preparing VAT returns and working to HMRC deadlines
  • Working across multiple currencies, bank accounts and departments
  • Maintaining accurate financial records and files
  • Producing accounts to trial balance stage where required
  • CIS work where applicable

You’ll work across Sage and Xero, so experience of both would be an advantage.

The profile:

  • AAT qualified
  • At least 3 years experience in a similar bookkeeping role
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Confident working independently and on client sites
  • A good eye for detail and pride in accurate work
  • Able to manage your own workload and hit deadlines
