Our client is a leading UK manufacturer of commercial vehicle trailers and rigid vehicle bodies, is looking to recruit an experienced Stores Manager to take responsibility for the effective management of its stores and materials operation.
This is a key position within a busy engineering and manufacturing environment, ensuring materials, components and consumables are accurately controlled and available to production when required.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage the day-to-day operation of the manufacturing stores department.
Lead, manage and develop the stores team.
Ensure materials and components are available to production in line with manufacturing schedules.
Maintain accurate stock and inventory records.
Manage goods-in, storage, picking, issuing and movement of materials.
Ensure effective stock location and identification systems are maintained.
Monitor stock levels and identify shortages or potential supply issues.
Work closely with Production, Purchasing, Planning and other manufacturing departments.
Manage stocktakes, cycle counts and inventory reconciliation.
Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies.
Improve stores processes, material flow and inventory accuracy.
Ensure materials are stored safely and appropriately.
