Our client, a well-established industrial manufacturer with a strong heritage in the region, is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to join their Engineering team on a permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a mechanically biased engineer to join a stable business offering strong benefits, bonus potential, and long-term career prospects.
The ideal candidate will have experience in maintaining pumps (centrifugal, positive displacement, mag drive, diaphragm etc.) as well as boiler room plant.
The Role
- Reporting to the Workshop Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Mechanical maintenance across process plant equipment including pumps, vessels, separation equipment, heat exchangers, hydraulic/pneumatic systems and piping
- Valve repair and refurbishment including pressure testing
- Mechanical assembly and pipe preparation
- Basic electrical work including motors and starter circuits
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and circuit diagrams
- Operation and maintenance of CHP plant (gas compression, steam and electricity generation)
- Root Cause Analysis on equipment failure
- Accurate CMMS reporting and record keeping
- Daily and weekly plant monitoring
- Maintaining high standards of engineering housekeeping
You will join the on-call rota once fully competent, receiving additional remuneration for participation.
What We're Looking For
- Essential:
- NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Maintenance (or equivalent)
- Minimum 3 years hands-on engineering maintenance experience
- Pump repair and maintenance experience
- Boiler repair and maintenance experience
- Basic electrical knowledge
- Strong problem-solving ability
- Good IT skills (Word, Excel)
- Flexible, proactive team player
- Desirable:
- Experience in high-hazard or industrial environments
- Pump and valve maintenance knowledge
- Fixed and rotating equipment experience
- Understanding of boiler operations
- Electrical/ECI interaction experience
