Our client, a major industrial operator within a heavy engineering environment, is seeking a skilled Electrical Technician to join their Engineering Maintenance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a time-served electrician looking to work in a fast-paced, safety-critical industrial setting.

Must have experience maintaining plant & machinery in heavy industrial environments.

The Role

You will work as part of a maintenance team responsible for planned preventative and reactive maintenance across plant, machinery and control systems. Key responsibilities include:

  • Carrying out hands-on electrical maintenance on plant and equipment
  • Fault finding across control systems and PLCs
  • Isolating plant and equipment safely
  • Responding to unplanned breakdowns to meet reliability targets
  • Completing job cards and maintenance system updates
  • Working to strict safe systems of work and permit procedures
  • Supporting operational teams to ensure efficient vessel loading & discharge
  • Liaising with contractors and internal stakeholders

Flexibility is essential due to the operational nature of the site, including occasional nights and weekends.

About You

We are looking for someone with:

  • Time served Electrician status
  • HNC / ONC in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) or Apprentice trained
  • Experience maintaining plant & machinery in heavy industrial environments (e.g. mining, quarrying, process, manufacturing)
  • Strong knowledge of control systems & PLCs
  • Excellent fault-finding ability
  • Experience working safely under pressure in busy environments
  • Understanding of permit-to-work systems
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Ability to work at heights

You will be proactive, safety-focused and capable of planning your own workload effectively.
