Service Engineer Compressed Air & Gas Systems

Bedford

Full Time, Permanent Monday to Friday (Days)

£35,000 - £41,000 per annum

Our client, a well-established engineering service provider, is seeking a Service Engineer to support the maintenance, servicing and installation of compressed air and gas generation systems across a range of industrial environments. This is an excellent opportunity for a mechanically and electrically skilled engineer to join a business offering varied work, strong support and ongoing development.

The Role

  • Service and commissioning of industrial equipment including dryers, chillers and gas generation systems
  • Maintenance and repair of compressed air systems and associated equipment
  • Fault finding, diagnosis and technical investigation across a range of plant
  • Installation and upgrade work on customer sites
  • Supporting wider engineering teams across the UK when required
  • Providing clear technical feedback and updates to customers
  • Ensuring all work is carried out in line with company and safety standards

This is a field-based role, covering Bedford and surrounding regions.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

  • Mechanical and electrical engineering experience
  • Proven service / maintenance background
  • Strong fault finding and problem-solving ability
  • Experience working on industrial equipment
  • Ability to work independently in a field-based role
  • Full UK driving licence

Desirable:

  • Experience with compressed air, refrigeration or gas systems (e.g. compressors, dryers, chillers, nitrogen or hydrogen systems)
  • Engineering qualification or apprenticeship
  • Experience using service reporting systems or Office-based tools
