Our client, a well-established and growing electronics business supplying components, kits, assemblies and solutions across a range of industry sectors, is seeking a Procurement Coordinator to join their team on a permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build or develop a career within procurement and supply chain, working in a fast-paced, technical engineering environment. The role will focus on supplier engagement, sourcing, pricing and supply chain coordination, playing a key part in ensuring the business can meet customer demand efficiently and competitively.
You will work closely with both suppliers and internal teams, supporting the smooth flow of materials through the business, while also providing occasional support to the sales function where required.
The Role
- Managing day-to-day procurement activities including supplier liaison, pricing, lead times and availability
- Sourcing electronic components and identifying alternative supply routes where required
- Building and maintaining strong supplier relationships
- Supporting cost control and margin improvement through effective purchasing
- Raising and managing purchase orders and monitoring order progress
- Ensuring accurate data is maintained within the ERP system
- Working closely with internal teams to ensure timely supply of materials
- Monitoring stock levels and supporting inventory planning activities
- Assisting with resolving supply chain issues and minimising disruption
- Providing occasional support to the sales team with quotations and customer enquiries
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
- Experience in procurement, purchasing, supply chain or a similar role
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail
- Commercial awareness and problem-solving ability
- Confident using Microsoft Office and ERP systems
Desirable:
- Experience within electronics, engineering or a technical environment
- Understanding of electronic components (or willingness to learn)
- Experience working within a fast-paced supply chain environment
- Exposure to stock control or materials planning
