Our client is a leading provider of construction, plant and compaction equipment, specialising in off-grid power and mobile lighting solutions. With a growing focus on zero-emission technologies, they are expanding their sales team to support increasing demand for sustainable equipment solutions across sectors including construction, rail, highways, events, film and TV. This is an excellent opportunity for somebody looking to build a long-term career in B2B sales within a fast-growing and sustainability-focused business. The role will involve generating new business opportunities and supporting the growth of the company’s clean equipment division.
Key Responsibilities- Research and identify new business prospects across sectors including construction, rail, highways, events, film and TV, and local authorities
- Build and maintain accurate prospect databases using LinkedIn, CRM systems, trade directories and industry resources
- Generate qualified leads through outbound calling, email campaigns and LinkedIn outreach
- Book qualified meetings for senior sales colleagues via Teams, site visits and face-to-face meetings
- Attend customer meetings where appropriate to support the sales process and develop industry knowledge
- Maintain accurate records of activity, contacts and opportunities within the CRM system
- Follow up inbound enquiries from marketing campaigns, exhibitions and website enquiries in a professional and timely manner
- Work closely with the marketing team to align business development activity with campaigns and market opportunities
- Develop strong technical and commercial understanding of the company’s zero-emission product range including hydrogen fuel cells, battery storage systems, solar/wind solutions and electric compaction equipment
- Represent the business at trade shows, customer demonstrations and industry events when required
- Achieve agreed KPIs relating to outbound activity, meetings booked and pipeline generation
- Genuine interest in sales and building a long-term career in business development
- Confident communicator comfortable engaging with decision-makers over the phone and via email
- Organised and self-motivated with strong time management skills
- Strong written communication skills
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word and Excel
- Right to work in the UK
- Previous experience within sales, telesales, customer service, retail or hospitality
- Awareness of construction, plant hire, energy or sustainability sectors
- Experience using CRM systems such as HubSpot, Salesforce or Zoho
- Experience using LinkedIn Sales Navigator
- Interest in sustainability, clean energy and net-zero technologies
