Our client, a major industrial operator within a heavy engineering environment, is seeking a skilled Electrical Technician to join their Engineering Maintenance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a time-served electrician looking to work in a fast-paced, safety-critical industrial setting.
The Role
- You will work as part of a maintenance team responsible for planned preventative and reactive maintenance across plant, machinery and control systems.
- Key responsibilities include:
- Carrying out hands-on electrical maintenance on plant and equipment
- Fault finding across control systems and PLCs
- Isolating plant and equipment safely
- Responding to unplanned breakdowns to meet reliability targets
- Completing job cards and maintenance system updates
- Working to strict safe systems of work and permit procedures
- Supporting operational teams to ensure efficient vessel loading & discharge
- Liaising with contractors and internal stakeholders
Flexibility is essential due to the operational nature of the site, including occasional nights and weekends.
About You
- Time served Electrician status
- HNC / ONC in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) or Apprentice trained
- Experience maintaining plant & machinery in heavy industrial environments (e.g. mining, quarrying, process, manufacturing)
- Strong knowledge of control systems & PLCs
- Excellent fault-finding ability
- Experience working safely under pressure in busy environments
- Understanding of permit-to-work systems
- Full UK driving licence
- Ability to work at heights
You will be proactive, safety-focused and capable of planning your own workload effectively.
