Offering a complete range of specialist steam services from customised plant room design and installation to maintenance and repair and working with a variety of industries and sectors, including: Petrochemical, Food, Beverage, Brewing, Laundry & Textile, Nuclear, Healthcare and many others.

Due to continued growth and success they now have an opportunity for a Commercial Gas Boiler Engineer to join them on a full time permanent basis. The successful candidate will need to be an experienced and qualified Commercial Gas Boiler Engineer, with experience working on Steam and Hot Water Boilers, Boiler Plant Rooms and Associated Steam & Hot Water Plant associated equipment. Most of the work will be service and planned maintenance of commercial steam powered plant and heating machinery. Impromptu and out of hours work is an essential part of our business and is a pre-requisite of the job. The main goal of this role is to provide a first-class engineering support service to our customer base nationwide. A mobile role, service engineers respond to planned and ad hoc issues to ensure minimal customer impact.

What will I be doing as a Commercial Gas Boiler Engineer?

  • Promote a professional image internally and externally.
  • Provide installation, repair, service & commissioning of industrial steam electric & hot water, including dismantle.
  • Attending ad-hoc breakdowns and customer problems, providing quick and accurate diagnosis and solutions.
  • Where necessary provide engineering assistance for planned annual boiler inspections and burner services.
  • Playing a key role in the wider Service Engineer team, providing colleague support as required.
  • Timely completion of documentation including commissioning / inspection reports and timesheets.
  • To be on the “on-call” service Rota.
  • To report any product or safety problems within the equipment to the Foreman/ Supervisor.
  • Unless on-site, the engineers are required to return to the head office, which is based in North Essex, therefore must be located within 1 hrs drive from Clacton on Sea.

To Be Successful In This Role

  • Experience of industrial steam and hot water boilers, burners, controls, and ancillary plant.
  • Excellent diagnostic skills and dedication to achieving maximum performance and efficiency.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively on their own initiative whilst providing a positive contribution to the Steam / Boiler Division.
  • Current driving license valid in the UK.
  • Qualified 17th Edition electrical - desirable.
  • Qualified commercial gas engineer.
  • Minimum Gas Qualification - COCN1.
  • LPG / GAS BOOSTERS / TCP1 / TCP1A - desirable.
  • Must have permanent residence & be allowed to work in the UK.
