Software Engineer — Stafford, VA • Full Time – Secret Clearance Required

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and validate Software Version Descriptions (SVDs).
  • Support software requirements within system-level (SW/HW) specifications.
  • Review OEM-submitted CDRLs and software documentation.
  • Participate in IPTs and contribute to technical discussions and reviews.
  • Analyze software integration, interoperability, and cybersecurity impacts.
  • Create and maintain technical documents: ICDs, development plans, test procedures.
  • Apply secure coding practices and address vulnerabilities (STIGs, RMF).
  • Support planning for cloud-hosted solutions, with awareness of DoD Cloud Impact Levels (IL2–IL5).
  • Assist in test event planning, execution, and reporting.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in computer science, Software Engineering, or related field (5 additional years of experience may substitute for a degree).
  • Mid-Level: 5–9 years | Senior-Level: 10+ years
  • Experience with software development, lifecycle documentation, and defense acquisition.
  • Familiarity with SVDs, CDRLs, and systems that integrate hardware and software.
  • Understanding of DoD cybersecurity frameworks and Cloud IL requirements.
  • Tools: Git, Jira, Confluence, MS Office.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and documentation skills.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with C2 systems, tactical networks, or expeditionary platforms.
  • Exposure to Agile or DevSecOps in defense settings.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship.
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance.
  • This position is Contingent on winning award.

Salary Range - $75,000 to $135,000 (Depending on experience).
