Governors Needed: Shape the Future of Our School
Location: Alexandra Park Junior School in Oldham
Commitment: Approximately 4-6 hours per half term
At Alexandra Park Junior School, we believe every child deserves the best start in life. Our Governing Body plays a crucial role in making that happen. We are currently looking for dedicated, community-minded individuals to join our team and help us drive the school toward excellence.
What's involved?
- Attending regular LGB meetings (four per year, usually held on Wednesday evenings from 4pm).
- Taking part in discussions and decisions on the school’s outcomes, curriculum, and policies.
- Being engaged and well-prepared for discussions.
- Providing supportive challenge to leaders and asking probing questions.
- Contributing to strategic planning and decision making.
- Promoting the school’s interests within the local community.
Who Are We Looking For?
- A Critical Friend approach: The ability to ask constructive questions and support and challenge school leaders.
- Professional skills: While not essential, we currently have a particular interest in individuals with experience in Education, Health and Safety, SEND, Data Analysis.
- Commitment: The willingness to attend four meetings per year and visit the school occasionally.
