The Theatre General Manager is responsible for all operational activity across the Victorian Theatre and East Court areas. Preserved in a beautiful state of arrested decay, the Theatre is a unique space that is both frozen in time while being fit to host contemporary productions. Upcoming events include live comedy, live music and theatre productions.

We are recruiting for a full-time permanent post holder to oversee this eclectic program, and work collaboratively with colleagues to delivery exceptional customer experiences.

We are looking for:

  • Significant experience working in a theatre or similar space
  • Comprehensive understanding of theatre requirements
  • Budget management experience
  • Excellent communication skills

Key duties include

  1. Overall responsibility for all operational activity that takes place in the Victorian Theatre and East Court
  2. Plan and deliver events in the Theatre and East Court space
  3. Full P&L responsibility
  4. Oversee staff and contractors working on events ensuring that SOPs are upheld
  5. Liaise with the Facilities team to coordinate reactive and planned maintenance works
  6. Ensure that the venue is always in a state of readiness
  7. Work collaboratively with the Sales and Programming team to identify commercial opportunities
  8. Support on event planning and delivery outside of the Theatre and East Court as required
