The Deputy Theatre General Manager is responsible for advancing and delivering a variety of events within this beautiful multi-purpose space; from live comedy to live music, orchestral rehearsals and film shoots. Preserved in a beautiful state of arrested decay, the Theatre is a unique space that is both frozen in time while being fit to host contemporary productions. Upcoming events include live comedy, live music and theatre productions.
We are recruiting for a full-time permanent post holder to oversee this eclectic programme, and work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver exceptional customer experiences.
We are looking for:
- Experience managing small to medium scale events and working with clients
- Duty management experience preferably gained within a theatre
- Experience supervising/briefing front of house teams, contractors and suppliers
- Knowledge of theatre operations
Key duties include:
- Plan and deliver nominated Theatre events in accordance with venue standard operating procedures effectively and safely providing an excellent customer/client experience
- Compile all relevant paperwork for nominated events i.e., event briefings, detailed booking instructions (DBI), risk assessments and event summaries
- Collaborate with the Technical Team and H&S to ensure the theatre is always in a state of readiness for an incoming client
- Liaise with internal departments, contractors, suppliers, and event day critical staff conducting briefings and ensure effective communication throughout event delivery
- Monitor event profit and loss budgets (P&Ls) keeping within agreed limits contributing to department financial targets
- Report any Theatre repairs or issues pre, post or during events and take responsibility for ensuring work areas are clean and tidy upholding a high standard of site presentation
