Scope of the Role
To support the Marketing Manager in delivering the marketing plan in line with ABT's commercial strategy, while taking day-to-day responsibility for the operation of the marketing function. This is a hands‐on role with clear ownership of digital marketing strategy and execution, including SEO, PPC and paid media, email marketing and campaign delivery. Alongside this, the Senior Marketing Lead will support wider marketing activity such as events and PR coordination, ensuring all activity is connected, well planned and commercially focused. The role requires strong critical thinking, autonomy and delivery capability, with increasing involvement in planning, prioritisation and decision‐making as confidence and understanding of the business develops through delivery.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver ABT's digital marketing strategy, including SEO, PPC, email marketing and digital content within the approved marketing budget.
- Monitor and report on marketing performance using tools such as GA4, GSC, Google Ads, Spotler and Workbooks CRM, providing insight‐driven recommendations to improve campaign outcomes.
- Manage ABT's digital platforms, content and tools (e.g. website, email marketing, Matterport), ensuring content is accurate, maintained and aligned with brand messaging.
- Take day‐to‐day responsibility for coordinating ABT's offline marketing activity, including events, trade shows and PR delivery, working with the PR consultant and coordinating logistics and promotion with support from the SDR (with marketing responsibilities) and Marketing Manager.
- Work with the Marketing Manager to plan and execute full-funnel marketing activity, tailoring content and messaging to different buyer needs, channels and stages of the customer journey.
- Contribute to the creation of the annual marketing plan and budget in partnership with the Marketing Manager.
- Maintain campaign data and mailing lists within Workbooks CRM, ensuring segmentation accuracy, supported by the SDRs and guided by the Marketing Manager.
- Ensure marketing activity and data handling is in line with best practice and GDPR requirements, with accurate records maintained across platforms.
- Explore AI tools and automation to improve marketing efficiency, quality and scalability.
Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours
- A strong understanding across full Marketing mix with a strong focus on digital marketing.
- Comfortable working with technical or industrial B2B products, with the ability to quickly build understanding of complex offerings and long sales cycles.
- Strong working knowledge of digital marketing channels including SEO, PPC, email marketing and social media.
- Hands‐on experience using digital tools such as WordPress, Google Ads, GA4, Google Search Console, CRM platforms (e.g. Workbooks) and email marketing platforms (e.g. Spotler).
- Demonstrated ability to track and report on marketing and channel performance, using data to make informed decisions and optimise activity.
- Commercially aware, with a clear understanding of how marketing contributes to business goals and the ability to report on marketing's role in the customer pipeline.
- Proficient in planning and delivering content across digital and offline formats, with a strong understanding of tone, messaging and visual consistency.
- Confident coordinating events and trade shows, including logistics, on‐stand marketing and associated promotion.
- High personal standards for accuracy and quality, with a methodical approach to planning, execution and delivery.
- Organised, proactive and able to prioritise workload across multiple ongoing projects.
- Comfortable exploring and testing AI tools or automation to improve marketing efficiency and quality.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively and respond constructively to direction.
- Awareness of GDPR and data privacy principles as they apply to marketing data, mailing lists and CRM records.
- Educated to degree in a relevant discipline or qualified by several years of relevant B2B marketing experience.
Interview Process
The interview process will consist of two stages. The first stage will be a Microsoft Teams interview with the Marketing Manager and HR Manager. Candidates who progress to the second stage will be invited for an onsite interview, during which they will be asked to deliver a short presentation.
