QUALITY LEADER Location: Glasgow Shift: 4 on / 4 off, 07:00 – 19:00 Salary: Competitive + Benefits We’re currently supporting a well-established and growing food manufacturing business with the appointment of a Quality Leader. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced manufacturing or production leader who enjoys being hands-on, developing people and driving high standards within a fast-paced operational environment. THE ROLE As Quality Leader, you’ll play a key frontline leadership role, working closely with Manufacturing Shift Leads to ensure the team consistently delivers against Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery and People objectives. You’ll lead from the front, maintaining high operational standards while coaching, supporting and developing your team to deliver strong performance. Key responsibilities include leading and supporting teams on shift to deliver safe, efficient and consistent production. You’ll drive performance against key measures including waste, yield, throughput and quality, while ensuring process standards, GMP, food safety and Health & Safety requirements are consistently maintained. You’ll promote a strong safety and quality culture, including the effective reporting of hazards and near misses, while coaching, motivating and developing colleagues to build capability and improve performance. A key part of the role will be supporting continuous improvement activity and reducing process variation through structured problem-solving. You’ll use daily management routines, including Leader Standard Work and Short Interval Control, to improve operational performance. You’ll work closely with Shift Leads on workforce planning, staffing requirements and changing production demands, as well as supporting effective production planning and changeovers. You’ll monitor training, skills development and competency across the team, while supporting attendance and performance management in line with company processes. Clear and effective communication will be essential, using shift briefings, handovers and other communication channels to keep teams informed and aligned. You’ll also work collaboratively with other departments to resolve issues and maintain smooth and efficient production. This is a hands-on leadership role, so you’ll be comfortable spending time on the shop floor, leading by example and adapting to the changing demands of a busy manufacturing environment. WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR? We’re keen to speak with candidates who have previous experience within a manufacturing, production or food manufacturing environment, together with experience supervising or leading teams in a shop-floor environment. You’ll have a proven ability to coach, motivate and develop people, along with a good understanding of Health & Safety, Food Safety and GMP standards. Experience working with operational KPIs such as waste, yield, throughput and quality is important, alongside strong communication and interpersonal skills. You’ll be organised, detail-focused and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. A proactive and adaptable approach, together with the resilience to respond to changing priorities, will be essential. Experience with continuous improvement or structured problem-solving methodologies would be advantageous. WHAT’S ON OFFER?
