Alexander Steele are delighted to be working with a hugely successful food manufacturing business who are seeking a Packing Engineer to join their engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly automated, well-invested manufacturing site where you'll be responsible for maintaining and improving packing and packaging equipment. The role combines reactive and planned maintenance with opportunities to support continuous improvement initiatives, equipment upgrades, and capital investment projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on packing and packaging equipment.
- Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults to minimise downtime.
- Support machinery installations, upgrades, and commissioning projects.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities across the packing area.
- Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) to eliminate recurring equipment issues.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and CMMS updates.
- Work closely with production teams to maximise equipment reliability and performance.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
