A leading, multi-site food manufacturer is looking to appoint a Lab Technician at their site in Bedfordshire. This is a great opportunity for someone with laboratory or QA experience who is looking to join a fast-paced food manufacturing environment and play a key role in maintaining product quality, safety, and compliance.
Key Accountabilities
- Conduct routine testing of raw materials and finished products in line with agreed methods and schedules
- Record results accurately, updating product specifications and systems as required
- Assess product compliance, release stock, and escalate non-conformances with appropriate corrective actions
- Maintain, verify, and calibrate laboratory equipment to ensure ongoing reliability
- Manage accurate data entry and upkeep of LIMS and stock control systems
- Keep all laboratory documentation up to date and audit ready
- Raise and support investigations into non-conforming products and quality issues
- Produce Certificates of Analysis / Conformity for customers when required
- Maintain high standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and organisation within the laboratory
- Manage shelf-life samples, consumables, and laboratory stock levels
- Support customer complaints, internal investigations, and shelf-life assessments
- Undertake additional tasks within the reasonable scope of the role as requested by management
Candidate Requirements
- Educated to at least GCSE level (or equivalent)
- Previous experience within a laboratory, QA, or similar technical role
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills
- Good numeracy skills with attention to detail
- Comfortable working under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Proactive, responsible, and able to work with minimal supervision
