An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Existing Product Development Technologist to join a well-established and fast-paced food manufacturing business within their growing NPD team. This role is ideal for someone with previous food manufacturing or product development experience who enjoys the technical and operational side of NPD and thrives in a fast-moving factory environment. You’ll play a key role in delivering cost-saving initiatives, ingredient changes, product improvements and operational projects across multiple manufacturing sites, working closely with cross-functional teams including Procurement, Operations, Technical and Engineering.
The Role:
- Supporting existing product development and continuous improvement projects
- Managing ingredient changes, cost-saving initiatives and product optimisation activities
- Conducting kitchen work, factory trials and first productions
- Capturing trial data, process settings and making recommendations for improvements
- Creating trial documentation, QAS paperwork and supporting product launches
- Working closely with internal teams and suppliers to ensure projects are delivered efficiently and to target
What We’re Looking For:
- Previous experience within NPD, EPD or food manufacturing
- Food Science/Food Technology degree preferred
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects
- Hands-on approach and comfortable working within factory and kitchen environments
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Good understanding of food manufacturing processes and technical documentation
- Bakery or FMCG experience would be advantageous
