Alexander Steele have partnered with a leading drinks manufacturing company in Perthshire to recruit an enthusiastic and hands-on Assistant Brewer. This is an entry-level opportunity designed for someone eager to start a career in brewing. You'll be involved across the full brewing process β from wort production to packaging and lab work β gaining broad, practical experience and valuable industry skills along the way.
Key Responsibilities
- Wort production
- Weighing ingredients
- Filtration processes
- Product transfers & tanker loading/unloading
- Cask and keg cleaning & filling
- General cleaning duties including CIP (Clean-in-Place)
- Lab work β beer quality monitoring and sensory analysis
Additional Duties May Include:
- Forklift truck operation (training provided)
- Stock counting and warehouse work
What Weβre Looking For
Previous experience in brewing or distilling is beneficial, but not essential β full training will be provided.
Desirable (but not required):
- Brewing qualifications (IBD Certificate/Diploma, BSc/MSc in Brewing & Distilling)
- Forklift licence (training can be provided)
Essential Skills & Requirements:
- High attention to detail
- Team-oriented with a proactive mindset
- Basic IT skills (Word, Excel)
- Awareness of health & safety
- Full UK driving licence
- Must be aged 18 or over (due to alcohol handling regulations)
