Trainee Buyer Alexander Steele is recruiting a Trainee Buyer to join a leading food business based in Surrey. The role holder will be responsible for undertaking all activities relating to sourcing individual products from EU/none EU countries. This is an exciting opportunity to embark in a career in procurement and gain hands-on experience in sourcing, supplier management, and category development. Responsibilities: Maintain expert knowledge of assigned product groups including raw material pricing and availability, economic factors, supply chain security issues. Develop and maintain commercial relationships with all existing and new suppliers. Ensure all paperwork is completed such as writing contracts for both supplier and customers, and request volume and price confirmation by email from the customer Monitor supplier performance to ensure consistent quality and timely delivery Background Experience: Degree qualified in relevant field – 2:1 or above French or Spanish speaking would be desirable Excellent communicator, customer focussed with commercial awareness Interest in FMCGs and the food industry Analytical and process minded What’s on Offer: £30,000 (plans to increase over a 12-month period) 31 days holiday Monday – Friday 8:30am-5pm Company pension Private Health Care For more information regarding this opportunity contact Lomond MacPherson for a discussion.
