The Role
As part of the technical team, you will take ownership of product and raw material specifications, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery across a range of customer platforms. You will work closely with internal teams including NPD, procurement, production, and account management to support product launches and maintain technical excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and update specification systems, ensuring all product and site information is accurate and current
- Review supplier documentation against legislation and company standards to ensure full compliance
- Support internal and external audits, including customer visits, and contribute as part of the audit team
- Create and manage product specifications across retailer and foodservice portals
- Ensure specification reviews are completed in line with scheduled timelines
- Liaise with stakeholders to resolve queries and provide technical information efficiently
- Assist with handling customer complaints, including data analysis and reporting
- Check and approve artwork, ensuring alignment with product specifications and labelling requirements
- Set up and approve raw material specifications and supplier documentation
- Provide support with technical reporting, KPIs, and system data accuracy
- Contribute to continuous improvement and support training across the wider business
About You
- Experience within the food industry in a technical or specifications role with experience working with retailer or foodservice specification systems
- Strong understanding of food safety, allergens, and HACCP principles
- Good knowledge of food labelling and relevant legislation
- Confident using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
- Able to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams
