We’re working with a successful and expanding food manufacturer in London to appoint a Compliance Manager into a newly created role within its senior technical structure. This position has been introduced to enhance compliance capability, strengthen governance, and embed best practice across the business.
This is a high-impact role, offering the opportunity to take full ownership of food safety and regulatory compliance while shaping how the organisation approaches audits, risk, and responsible business practices.

The Position
Reporting into technical leadership, the Compliance Manager will act as the central point of authority for all compliance-related matters. You’ll work closely with senior stakeholders and site-based teams to ensure legal, customer, and third-party standards are consistently achieved, while driving a culture of continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Champion food safety, legality, and compliance standards across all operations
- Plan, lead, and close internal and external audits, ensuring ongoing audit readiness
- Own and develop core technical systems, including QMS, internal auditing programmes, pest control, and quality reporting tools
- Review and interpret compliance data, complaints, and supplier performance to identify risks, trends, and improvement opportunities
- Lead ethical, environmental, and social compliance activities, supporting broader ESG objectives
- Manage packaging compliance, including EPR reporting and recyclability assessments
- Work collaboratively with operations, supply chain, commercial, and technical teams to resolve issues and improve processes
- Build strong working relationships with customers, suppliers, and regulatory bodies
- Lead, coach, and develop a small Quality and Compliance team
About You
- Degree qualified in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related discipline
- Strong knowledge of UK and EU food legislation and food safety management systems
- At least three years’ experience within the food industry, ideally in a compliance or technical leadership role
- Confident and credible communicator, comfortable influencing at all levels
- Previous experience managing or mentoring team members
- HACCP Level 3 (Level 4 desirable)
- Experience with GFSI/BRC standards, ESG frameworks, or technical system implementation would be advantageous
