The Role

We are seeking an experienced and commercially astute Senior National Account Manager to join our dynamic commercial team. This is a key role focused on managing and developing strategic relationships with major UK retail customers. You will be responsible for delivering profitable growth, executing joint business plans, and driving category performance in a highly competitive marketplace.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow existing relationships with major UK grocery retailers (e.g. Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Asda, Morrisons, etc.)
  • Lead the development and delivery of strategic customer business plans to achieve revenue, volume, and margin targets
  • Own the full P&L responsibility for assigned accounts, ensuring financial performance aligns with company objectives
  • Lead commercial negotiations, promotional planning, and range reviews to maximise growth opportunities
  • Work closely with internal cross-functional teams including NPD, Supply Chain, Finance, and Marketing to deliver customer-specific initiatives
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and category insights to inform strategy and drive innovation
  • Identify and convert new business opportunities within existing accounts and potential new retail partners
  • Champion excellent customer service and act as the voice of the customer within the business

Candidate Profile

  • Proven track record in managing national retail accounts within the UK food or FMCG sector
  • Strong commercial acumen with full P&L accountability experience
  • Excellent negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building skills
  • Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach and results-driven mindset
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data to drive decisions
  • Self-motivated, resilient, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment
  • Degree-level education or equivalent; relevant qualifications in Sales, Business or Marketing are advantageous
