Recruitment Consultant at Alexander Steele – Operations, Supply Chain + Engineering

Alexander Steele are working in partnership with a Food Manufacturing business in South Yorkshire which are looking to recruit a Quality Manager to join there team. The ideal candidate has experience working with Salsa accreditation and experience within food manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and implement the site Quality Management System in line with SALSA standards, customer codes of practice, and legal requirements.
• Manage and update site HACCP plans, ensuring robust food safety systems are in place and regularly reviewed.
• Lead internal audits, maintain the audit schedule, and coordinate external audits including SALSA and customer visits.
• Handle all customer technical requirements including specifications, complaints, and questionnaires, providing timely and professional responses.
• Oversee supplier approval, including raw material and packaging assessments, and maintain up-to-date supplier assurance documentation.
• Ensure all technical documentation is current and accurate, including SOPs, cleaning records, traceability checks, and process control data.
• Support and train production staff on food safety and quality procedures, promoting a strong food safety culture across the site.
• Monitor hygiene and factory standards, manage pest control contracts, and conduct environmental and product sampling where required.

On Offer

• Annual Salary of £40,000 (slight flexibility for an outstanding candidate).
• 33 days AL
• Pension
• Monday to Friday – office hours
