Salary: £45,000
Location: Burnopfield
Working hours: Monday to Friday (Friday WFH)
Alexander Steele are working with an established ambient food manufacturing business in Durham who are actively recruiting for a Process Technologist to join their technical team.
The ideal candidate will have experience in a process or NPD-related role within food manufacturing and a strong understanding of factory trials, product launches, and scale-up processes.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Manage factory trials and scale-up processes for new and existing products, ensuring successful handover from kitchen to production
- Work closely with NPD, Technical, and Operations teams to deliver high-quality, cost-effective products to market
- Support product launches, ensuring they meet customer expectations and comply with internal and external standards
- Conduct post-launch reviews to identify opportunities for improvement in product quality, cost, or process efficiency
- Maintain accurate documentation, including trial reports, process specs, and risk assessments
- Liaise with customers during trials and visits, providing technical input and process insight
- Drive continuous improvement across manufacturing processes, focusing on consistency, waste reduction, and line efficiency
- Ensure all trials and processes comply with food safety, quality, and hygiene requirements
