Are you a Packaging Technologist looking to take the next step in your career? This is an exciting opportunity to join a global food manufacturer and play a key role in shaping packaging development for well-known consumer products.
You’ll support the NPD and Packaging teams to drive innovation, quality, and efficiency across a wide range of packaging formats – while working closely with design houses, suppliers, and cross-functional teams.
What you’ll be doing:
- Managing relationships with design houses and supporting the development of best-practice packaging solutions.
- Briefing artworks, maintaining cutter guides, coordinating redesign projects and managing film changeovers on site.
- Supporting the NPD process—packaging trials, transit testing, and managing print timelines from FTP through to site introduction.
- Providing day-to-day packaging support to Operations and QA teams.
- Building knowledge of packaging materials to improve line efficiency and product performance.
- Ensuring all existing packaging is compliant, fit for purpose and supported by accurate electronic specifications.
- Delivering cost-saving and rationalisation projects.
- Building strong supplier relationships and keeping up to date with industry trends, materials, and competitor insights.
Key challenges you’ll tackle:
- Solving operational packaging quality issues.
- Supporting NPD launches when equipment or materials present challenges.
- Balancing quality, cost, and technical feasibility in packaging development.
- Managing artwork and print requirements within tight deadlines.
- Identifying correct barrier films for product and shelf-life needs.
- Addressing legal or technical issues related to packaging or print.
What we’re looking for:
- Degree-level education (Packaging qualification ideal).
- Strong background in NPD packaging within food manufacturing.
- Experience working with artwork, packaging materials, and print processes.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills and a problem-solving mindset.
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with occasional travel required.
