ALEXANDER STEELE are working with an established bakery product manufacturer which is looking to recruit a Mechanical Engineer to join the team.
Responsibilities
- In-House Repairs and Fabrication: Carrying out internal repairs and providing a rapid response to equipment breakdowns to reduce the company's reliance on external contractors.
- Preventative Maintenance and Reliability: Conducting regular inspections, repairs, and improvements to ensure equipment reliability, minimise production downtime, and extend the lifespan of critical assets.
- Standards and Quality Assurance: Ensuring all fabricated and welded components meet food industry standards and monitoring equipment performance to prevent quality issues.
- Technical Documentation and Stock Management: Creating CAD drawings for future reference and machining parts to be kept in stock for future use.
- Systems Oversight: Maintaining and overseeing the functionality of various production systems, including tortilla and chip lines, packaging equipment, silos, pumps, and mixers.
