We’re partnering with a well-established and growing food business in London to recruit a Compliance Manager for a newly introduced position within its technical leadership team. This role has been created to elevate compliance standards, strengthen governance, and embed best practice across the organisation.
You’ll take ownership of food safety and regulatory compliance, while influencing how the business approaches audits, risk management, and ethical responsibility.

The Role:
As Compliance Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the business consistently meets legal, customer, and third-party standards. You’ll work closely with senior stakeholders and site teams, acting as the central authority on compliance-related matters while driving continuous improvement.
Key areas of responsibility include:
- Promoting a robust food safety and compliance culture across all operations.
- Planning, leading, and closing out internal and external audits to maintain constant audit readiness.
- Ownership and development of technical systems, including QMS, internal auditing, pest control programmes, and quality reporting tools.
- Analysing compliance data, complaints, and supplier performance to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
- Acting as the internal lead for ethical, environmental, and social compliance, supporting wider ESG initiatives.
- Managing packaging compliance requirements, including EPR reporting and recyclability assessments.
- Partnering with operations, supply chain, commercial, and technical teams to resolve issues and enhance processes.
- Building effective working relationships with customers, suppliers, and regulatory authorities.
- Leading, mentoring, and developing a small Quality and Compliance team.
About You:
- Degree qualified in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related discipline.
- Strong working knowledge of UK and EU food legislation and food safety management systems.
- Minimum of three years’ experience within the food industry, ideally in a compliance or technical leadership role.
- Confident, credible communicator with the ability to influence at all levels of the business.
- Previous experience managing or mentoring team members.
- HACCP Level 3 qualification (Level 4 would be advantageous).
- Experience working with GFSI/BRC standards, ESG frameworks, or implementing technical systems is beneficial.
