Location: Harlesden, London

Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 8am - 4.30pm (1 day Working from home)

Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 (DOE)

Alexander Steele is delighted to be supporting a food manufacturing business in the search for a Supply Chain Coordinator. This is an excellent opportunity for a supply chain professional to join a growing food manufacturing business and play a key role in ensuring the smooth flow of materials, inventory, and products throughout the supply chain.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the purchasing of raw materials, packaging, and external services.
  • Support demand forecasting and inventory planning to ensure material availability.
  • Monitor supplier performance and maintain strong supplier relationships.
  • Obtain quotations and negotiate pricing, contracts, and service agreements.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce costs across purchasing, warehousing, and distribution activities.
  • Coordinate material planning to optimise stock levels and minimise waste.
  • Develop contingency plans to reduce supply chain risks and maintain continuity of supply.
  • Assist with sourcing activities for new product development projects.
  • Track and report supply chain KPIs, recommending improvements where required.
  • Work closely with Production, Operations, Quality, and other internal departments to ensure business objectives are achieved.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across the supply chain function.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, quality, and health & safety standards.
  • Maintain awareness of industry developments and supply chain best practices.

Skills & Experience:

  • Previous experience within a Supply Chain, Purchasing, Materials Planning, or Procurement role.
  • Experience within food manufacturing, FMCG, or a manufacturing environment is desirable.
  • Strong organisational and planning abilities.
  • Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Commercial awareness with the ability to negotiate effectively.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
