This is an exciting opportunity for a creative and commercially aware individual to join a growing business and play a key role in bringing innovative new products to market.
Working closely with technical, production, procurement, and commercial teams, you will play a key role in developing new products, improving existing ranges, and ensuring successful launches into manufacture.
Key Responsibilities- Manage new product projects from concept stage through to successful factory launch.
- Develop and adapt recipes across a range of premium ambient product categories.
- Plan and coordinate kitchen, pilot, and production trials, recording outcomes and next steps.
- Support initial production runs to ensure products are introduced smoothly into manufacture.
- Partner with internal departments to keep projects on schedule and aligned to commercial objectives.
- Review current products and identify opportunities to improve quality, shelf life, cost, or efficiency.
- Carry out market reviews, benchmarking, and taste panels to inspire innovation and product development.
- Troubleshoot recipe and process challenges, implementing effective solutions during trials or production.
- Maintain accurate formulation systems, specifications, and project documentation.
- Ensure all launches meet customer standards, legal requirements, and food safety expectations.
- Assist with packaging copy, artwork checks, and technical launch approvals.
- Degree qualified in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related discipline.
- Previous experience within NPD in food manufacturing.
- Strong understanding of recipe formulation, ingredient functionality, and manufacturing processes with experience running factory trials and scaling products from concept to production.
- Knowledge of food safety systems, HACCP, and relevant legislation.
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple projects to tight deadlines.
- Passionate about innovation and bringing new products to market.
