Alexander Steele is delighted to have partnered with a highly successful business within the consumer goods manufacturing sector (FMCG) who are currently looking to appoint their next Finance Director. This exciting opportunity will give the incumbent full accountability for financial control, commercial performance, risk management, compliance and business partnering. The Finance Director ensures the integrity of financial reporting, drives profitability and cash performance, and supports long‑term strategic decision‑making. Reporting to the Managing Director, the person will act as a trusted advisor, strategic contributor and constructive challenger at both Leadership and Board‑level.

Key Qualifications / Experience Required:

  • Accounting qualification with strong previous experience in a senior Finance role within the manufacturing sector (preferably within food, drink, or pharmaceutical).
  • Strong transactional finance and month end experience.
  • Understanding of relevant accounting standards.
  • Broad knowledge of Tax e.g. Vat, P11d, PSA, PPT, Corporation Tax & R&D submissions.
  • Systems knowledge (Microsoft Business Central).
  • Experience in producing management information and board reporting with an excellent commercial skillset.
