Alexander Steele are working in partnership with a global food manufacturer that supplies a wide range of luxury food products to UK retailers, food service, and B2B. Due to growth, the business is looking to appoint a Customer Technical Manager on a 6 month FTC. This role is a fully remote position.
On offer:
- Salary is circa £45,000 (Pro-rata)
- Remote working

The role:
Reporting to the Technical Director, as Customer Technical Manager you will be the primary contact for key customer accounts and liaise with them for all technical matters. You will work closely with technical functions across the business to ensure that only the highest standards are reached.
Key accountabilities:
- Ensure standards are met and maintained with regard to specifications, product quality, factory standards and legal requirements by communicating across the technical functions.
- Manage the flow of information between supplying sites and customers.
- Support the business sites to uphold external accreditations by representing the business site audits and developing corrective action plans.
- Liaise with and support the Technologists to ensure that accurate customer specifications are created and maintained.
- Implement new customer COPs and legislation into the business.
- Continual monitoring of legislation and industry guidelines.
- Create, collate and manage the product file system to guarantee integrity and accuracy of information held by the business for its customers.
- Facilitate and provide technical support with the launch of products.
- Establish product quality and benchmarking panels to monitor the product performance and quality, providing feedback to relevant teams.
Candidate requirements:
- Degree or equivalent in Food Science or similar science discipline would be desirable.
- A proven track record of effective technical management of major UK retailer and food service customers.
- Excellent communication skills to be able to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels.
- Results focused individual - attention to detail, ability to work to deadlines and has excellent time management.
- HACCP and auditing (site and supplier) qualifications are desirable.
