Alexander Steele Recruitment are supporting a successful FMCG manufacturing business with the appointment of a Manufacturing Supervisor. This is an opportunity for an experienced production leader who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment where quality, efficiency and people development are key. The role is hands-on, leading day-to-day production activity and ensuring manufacturing lines operate safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.

The position operates on a days-based shift pattern, working Friday to Tuesday with two consecutive rest days mid-week.

Key Responsibilities
  • Take ownership of daily production performance, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality operations.
  • Ensure manufacturing and packing lines run effectively in line with customer and specification requirements.
  • Organise daily production planning, forecasting, and labour allocation.
  • Lead, motivate, and support production teams with a strong focus on safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Ensure all Health & Safety, food safety, and hygiene procedures are fully complied with.
  • Complete daily production reporting, including performance, waste, and cost data.
  • Work closely with QA, Warehouse, Engineering, and Supply Chain functions to support operational delivery.
  • Monitor equipment performance and escalate issues to maintenance when required.
  • Train, coach, and develop team members, identifying skills gaps and succession opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, including waste, weight control, and quality records.
  • Uphold site hygiene standards and continuous improvement initiatives.
Candidate Profile
  • Proven experience in a production supervisory or team leadership role, ideally within food or FMCG manufacturing.
  • Confident, visible leader with strong people-management and communication skills.
  • Proactive, solution-focused mindset with the ability to manage challenges in a fast-moving environment.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • Good understanding of production planning, performance management, and cost control.
  • Competent IT skills, including Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Able to delegate effectively, follow up actions, and hold teams to account.
  • Collaborative team player, comfortable working cross-functionally.
