Supply Chain Coordinator Harlesden, London Monday - Friday , 8am - 4.30pm (1 day Working from home) £35,000 - £40,000 (DOE) Alexander Steele is delighted to be supporting a food manufacturing business in the search for a Supply Chain Coordinator. This is an excellent opportunity for a supply chain professional to join a growing food manufacturing business and play a key role in ensuring the smooth flow of materials, inventory, and products throughout the supply chain.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the purchasing of raw materials, packaging, and external services. Support demand forecasting and inventory planning to ensure material availability. Monitor supplier performance and maintain strong supplier relationships. Obtain quotations and negotiate pricing, contracts, and service agreements. Identify opportunities to reduce costs across purchasing, warehousing, and distribution activities. Coordinate material planning to optimise stock levels and minimise waste.
Develop contingency plans to reduce supply chain risks and maintain continuity of supply. Assist with sourcing activities for new product development projects. Track and report supply chain KPIs, recommending improvements where required. Work closely with Production, Operations, Quality, and other internal departments to ensure business objectives are achieved. Support continuous improvement initiatives across the supply chain function. Ensure compliance with food safety, quality, and health & safety standards.
Maintain awareness of industry developments and supply chain best practices. Skills & Experience Previous experience within a Supply Chain, Purchasing, Materials Planning, or Procurement role. Experience within food manufacturing, FMCG, or a manufacturing environment is desirable. Strong organisational and planning abilities. Good communication and stakeholder management skills. Commercial awareness with the ability to negotiate effectively. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
