The position is initially offered as a 3-month contract to provide cover for long-term absence, with a strong likelihood of transitioning into a permanent role.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of production machinery and site equipment within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on a range of manufacturing and packaging machinery.
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns, diagnosing and resolving electrical and mechanical faults.
- Minimise production downtime through efficient fault finding and repair.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment performance and reliability.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
- Work closely with production teams to ensure machinery operates safely and efficiently.
- Adhere to all health & safety, food safety, and site compliance standards.
- Participate in root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent recurring issues.
- Electrically biased maintenance background within a manufacturing or production environment.
- Recognised electrical qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent).
- Experience with fault finding on automated production equipment.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems including motors, sensors, drives, and control systems.
- Basic mechanical maintenance skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, shift-based environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to maintenance.
- Experience within food manufacturing or FMCG environments.
- Knowledge of PLC fault finding and automated production lines.
- Competitive salary of £55,000.
- Overtime available at 1.5x rate.
